Hello! Since you are viewing this page, we're going to assume that you have deployed the Open In Browser object to your RWD web site and have activated the link.
This page will show you how to set up the object so that it will open your site, not ours. It isn't hard; Just follow the steps below to configure your Open In Browser object to open your site. If these instructions don't make sense to you, watch the 2.5 minute video below to see it done live.
Step 1: Add an Open In Browser object to your RWD website container by clicking on the New Web Page button and selecting the Open In Browser object.
This will add the object to your website container and also will open your browser to this instruction page automatically.
Step 2: Go to your school's website in the browser (sorry, we can't help you with this part!)
Step 3: Once at your school's website, either use the links in the site to find your class web site, or, you can type the word 'teachers' (no quotes) after the last slash in your school website's address
Like this (in the web browser's address bar): http://myschool.mydistrict.com/teachers
Step 3 (continued): Either click the link to your website (if there) or type your website's address after the teachers part above, making sure to put a slash (/) after teachers and before your website's address. If you don't know what your website address is, look at your RWD Website container's title bar. Your website address is the part before the colon in that title bar.
Like this (in the web browser's address bar): http://myschool.mydistrict.com/teachers/YourSiteAddress
Step 4: Once your website loads, copy the entire address (URL) of your website from the browser's address bar to your computer's clipboard
Step 5: Right-Click the Open In Browser object in your RWD Website Container and select 'properties from the menu that pops up (get info in MAC). Paste the contents of your clipboard (your website address) OVER TOP of the existing URL (which leads to this page).
Your Done! Every time you double click that Open in Browser object, your website will open in a web browser for you.
